What techniques can be used to achieve the soft edge between the OD top and neutral gray bottom of an aircraft?

I use poster-tac. The white kind seems to be better than the blue. Roll out a “snake” about 1/4" in diameter and just stick it where it needs to go.

To get that soft transition between the colors I use Tamiya tape for the mask and lift the edge of the tape a little and spay at a 90 degree angle…itll give it that free handed feathered look I think youre looking for.

I have some blue tac so I’m going that route. I’ll be painting the OD later today, so I’ll have pics soon.

I airbrush freehand by first removing the crown tip off the Iwata airbrush and going with low pressure to spray the demarcation line.
