Most of the experts around here probably already have tried this but I’ii post it anyway. I’v found that an easy and quick way to clean up the treat of tires is to find a socket that is slightly bigger than the rim and put the tire on it. Then put a 1/4 inch into the socket and put it in a battery or bench drill. I’v found that a bench drilll is better as you can adjust the speed and you have both hans free. Then just hold sandpaper or a sanding stick against the tire as it rotates. their cleaned up evenly all the way aroung in less than a minute each. Hope this helps someone?

I have found that that some tires fit right over the small sanding drum of my fremel, but your method is a much better, much safer way. Thanks for th tip.

its somewhat irrelevant, but this reminds me of the time i didnt check the rotation directionof my dremel and ended up unscrewing my cut-off wheel while trying to cut a screw down to size. thank goodness it didnt go flying, it just kinda went plop ontot he floor. in retrospect it was kinda dumb and unsafe. lesson learnt [:P]
