[#welcome] to the Hobby, biffa.
What variant of Tiger is that? I know it’s a Tiger I turret of some type, early by the looks of it. Or was Wittman’s tank unique?
However, it’s a beautiful model, great weathering.
Just try to take the photo in better light, use a fluro or even sunlight.
Overall, it’s great!
Cheers,
John
P.S. Can’t wait to see your work in a Group Build!!

its the Porches VK-401, also known as a Tiger(P)
it went up against the Henshels version and lost

the rest of the hulls for this were turned into the Ferdinand

Great model, is it the italeri one

Nice build! Like the weathering a lot and the scene is basic and simple. Good job!

Whoa whoa whoa…you’ve only been modelling SIX WEEKS!!!

Well, you’ve come a long way in those six weeks!
Great job on the Tiger (P)!
It’s the old Italeri kit, right?

Really a nice job for your baptism. You might want to reposition the headlights/blackout lights, I think they are backward. Maybe I’m mistaken, are these the armor covers on the lights?

Regardless, a very well done vignette on an unusual variant of the Tiger1!

Steve

thank you all for the kind words, it means a lot comin from you guys, yes it is the italeri kit i got it half price at the local hobby shop, it was a good easy build for a new guy like myself with a little filling here and there not much though, from what i found out six where originally built, but only one saw combat with the number 003 on the turret the rest where turned into ferdinand as captain caveman rightly said, i modelled one of the test versions therefore no markings where required (hehe decals still intimidate me havent put any on yet) plus it gave me a little freedom because there is nothing to say what was right or wrong with it[:)]
yes you are right the head lamps are on backwards[:I] thankyou for that i will fix them, my greenness showing there

thanks again, ron g

Wow- six weeks?? Fantastic

You are off to a booming start Ron! That is some very nice work, and it sounds like you even got into a little research before you started your build. Looks to me like you’re doing all the right things. Welcome to the forums, and hope to see more of your work soon. Semper Fi, mike

Welcome to the forums Ron. That is a nice build you have there and like the others, it’s hard to believe you have been modeling for so little of time. Fine weathering ( did you use pastels?) Hope to see more of your work soon.

WOW, really good stuff. Impressive for 10 years, much less 6 weeks.

Welcome, Btw

Ted

Heh, nice job. I actually like the lighting. Speaking of lights, maybe your headlights are on backwards, but who says your tiger (p) wasn’t backing up! ( ha ha ha)

Amazing for 6 weeks work.

Keep up the work and stay in touch on the forums.

again thanks for the compliments its given me a real boost in confidence, after christmas i had knee surgery and was layed up for 5 weeks which was the reason i started modelling so im working on a tight budget, now im hooked and its gonna cost me a fortune but no worries im back at work now [:)]
a quick rundown on what i did

base coat was a dark grey with slight tint of green non reflective camo paint out of a can (no airbrush yet)

brushed on a coat of future(read lots of good things about this and was very happy i went ahead and did it)

weathering was done using cheap walmart acrylics namely pewter grey darkened a little and lightened a little dry brushed, this was my first attempt and after a few practices on the kit box i went to town on the model and was absolutly thrilled with the result, blew me away i almost left it at that but i couldnt stand it i had to go on

next i did a wash (got a cheap set of oil paints and a small bottle of turpenoid for less than $12) now this part scared me because ive read a lot about it from you guys and heard it can go wrong and i loved my model so much hehe but went ahead with black mixed in a little burnt umber this seems to be a favourite with a lot of people and did a all over wash

next a little more dry brushing with burnt sienna (wal-mart acrylics) for rust spots

another coat of future then when dryed a coat of dullcote out of can

finaly a dusting of brown dry temp powder to had a dusty grimy look

overall i was shocked and delighted at the finished piece all the methods used i found here so all i did follow instructions but its such a kick when i see the end result i cant wait till me next kit arrives (tamiya hanomag sd.kfz 251/1) i can see that this is goin to be an addictive hobby also cant wait to get in a group build, gotta get an airbrush next[:)]
anyway sorry to go on but ive been dying so post something ive done since i found this place six weeks ago and im glad ive finally done it , i feel like a kid all over again hehe

Amazing how the knee surgery gets you hooked, huh? That’s what brought me to armor and now I am mentally sick and financially poor.
