Tiger II...Winter dress???

About to start the Tamiya Tiger II production turret kit and was looking for a little different look as far as camouflage. Where can I find a Tiger II in “winter dress”. I was thinking a white base (duh) with accents of dark green or even black. Getting tired of the sand/red brown/green clothing that so many of my other Germans have.

I know it snows in Germany. Battle of the Bulge/Ardennes?

Hi Bud,
I don’t know if any of the KT had white washes in the BOTB, but I would imagine it happened. If you go this way, it’ll look cool I’m sure.
I’ve been experimenting with the white wash builds…I’ve never actually done one yet! haha But I’ve been experimenting on ways to do it, and I came across a way that actually looks kind of cool. I had an old KVII kit laying around, so I sprayed the whole thing in white automotive primer. Then I took some Panzer Grey, and with a wide soft brush, I actually started drybrushing the grey everywhere, and the result was good, almost like a reverse white wash per se. I put a dirty wash over it, and wow! It may be a way to try!
Good luck with the build, can’t wait to see it!
Cheers,
Kelly

That is intriguing Kelly, and worth a try. I hope to try that on a Russian tank someday.

There was atleast one, and a very famous one. It is a King Tiger with the so called “Porsche” turret from Schwere panzerabteilung 503, it was nick named “Anneliese” which was written on both sides of the gun mantlet. Turret number 314 in black on the rear of the turret sides and a balkenkreuz in the middle of the turret sides, it also had zimmerit, the whitewash is a bit worn and the camo shows through here and there.
It was deployed in the Szarkerestes sector in January 1945.

is this what you need
if not let me know.

Ofcourse Im not the one to say what it is abutt is looking for, but he asks for Tiger II and your pics is of a Tiger I. They are good pics though, what book is that ???

Here is an artists impression of the one I described, its not entirely correct but its ok.
I know its not a production turret but its the best I could come up with.

This one might have whitewash, but its difficult to tell from a black and white picture.

sorry about that i just seen the tiger2 duh! owell i’ll look again. the book is SS ARMOR squadon/signal publications.[8][banghead]
