Tiger I, U.S., May 1, 1944, What-If, 1/35

This is a what-if diorama of a German invasion of the United States, set near Boone, North Carolina. Not very realistic, but… I had this Airfix branded Acadamy Tiger I that I built a few years ago, and I didn’t really have anything else to do with it. The figures are from Miniart.

What about the display makes it a fictional invasion of the US? It looks like any other Tiger in Europe during WWII to me.

Well, Gino, nothing really. It could be any Tiger; I just decided on this because I usually like to have a photo to base the tank off, and as I had already painted it, I figured I’d do this.

Plenty of places to ambush German columns here in the mountains of WNC,if they ever make it that far.

Nice looking Tiger.

Nice job on your Tiger. I’ve got this same kit with the interior in my stash.

Thank you Tom. It’s a nice kit when assembled, but the fit isn’t too good compared to Tamiya.

Nice Tiger.

Since 1996, I’ve written roughly 300 pages of a what-if novel, and pitched about 280 of those, exploring the idea of a Nazi invasion of the United States. Maybe one of these years I’ll actually finish it.
