I finished this model 2 years ago and was in the process of building a diarama for my wife depicting a scene from the Battle of The Bulge along with a Sherman when i decided to completely redo the paint and weathering .with the info from the mag, this battle beasts makeover will be awsome. this time i will add some battle damage.what are some good areas to beat up and how do i do it[/img][/img][/img][/img][/img]there is alot left to do but i really want some battle damage. comments wlcome
Bend your front fenders maybe even remove one. Secondly the side skirts almost always suffer damage. Bend these up. If possible remove one or two. JUst keep in mind the base color is under the side skirts but the camo was usually painted with the side skirts on, so no camo wher the side skirt is missing.
Owned… He does have a valid point, though. Anyways, you might want to add 1 or 2 hits on the hull that didn’t penetrate. Not too many though, but on heavy armor, that would make sense. However, I’m not a treadhead…
Sheesh, man; I have to say that a response like this to myself or any other talented modeler on this site is not a good way for a new guy to make a good impression. [sigh]
please show me your talent by giving me advice and stop defending arrogance.as a matter of fact if anyone feels they have to defend their talent, do not respond to my posts.i do not need your advice.[:)]
as a matter of fact, my scene was a depiction of an ambush by the sherman. i imagined my Tiger retreating. i used the battle of the bulge reference to spice up the diarama and get my wife interested. I appreciate all responses to my post. thank you. i’m all set on battle damage.
I root for you. This guy throws his “seniority” around like noone’s business. Let’s do a build off and let people judge the qualities. See what these “talented modeler” really got.
Wow. You two make a good team. Life getting a bit boring ?
Look, for what its worth, I think Crockett is a bit blunt at times…but that doesnt make him wrong. As for his builds, he walks the walk and talks the talk.
UH, YES…my point exactly, rios. Ironic that you should point that out!
Old habits die hard, don’t they? [;)]
Are you genuinely serious? One of most talented modelers here gives you sincere advice–be it incorrect or not-- and you call it “arrrogant”? WHo was it that asked the question in the first place? You wouldn’t be here if you didn’t need advice. --'nuff said!
What a way to make an impression! [yuck]
By the way, the time to make battle damage is BEFORE you paint it…
Yeah, and add some zimm to that Tiger as well…UNLESS, Satori can dig a ref up stating that the zimm was neatly scrapped off of that one Tiger before the battle…
Are you trying to insult me?
Felt as you had tried to pick a fight against me ever since I started posting on this forum.
Can you walk the walk?
Build, paint, research. You name it.
I have a suggestion. How about you name a model, easily accessible materials we could both obtain from stores. Give a month of time, then we post them here and have some AMPS master class (or any equally respectable third party) to judge them?
Not being rude(cause I have less than 10 post) but what’s wrong with just building to build. I understand that sometimes accuracy count’s but not when you and your significant other are going to do something together. I’m jealous that the mans wife is taking in interest in something he obviously enjoys. Just my to cents, I know they don’t count but it is what it is. I’m neutral and not taking sides by the way so don’t castrate me please.
