Anyone foresee any difficulties in taking the interior of a scrounged Academy Tiger I early and putting it into a Tamiya Tiger I late?

Don’t know of any. But then again I’m not a Tiger expert. I’ve hacked together alot of stuff from the parts box to replicate interiors. I try to be as true as possible but some times creative gizmology looks darn good!!! JMHO
That’s what I’m basically thinking myself…the Academy kit is missing the roadwheels and lower hull (used for another project), but the sprues containing the interior parts are still there, all intact. If Tamiya and Academy both did their homework, then the internal hull dimensions should be close enough for me to drop those parts in with minimal effort.
Jeff
Yep, maybe alittle trimming here and there but I would think it would be a good match!!
in a ive got book i think they have done it or sugest it
ill have to find out where i read it i think its one of the tankpower tiger books
Sounds like a good time building models to me![8D]
Is the Academy interior as good as other aftermarket interiors? I have a Tamiya mid Tiger 1 and I was also thinking about finding an interior for it. I also had thought about the Academy interior. It would seem that the two interiors should work. Greg.
Sounds like it should work.Should be interesting.Let us know how it goes.
I don’t see why not with a little triming. But do take your time to atleast correct the ammo stowage bins in the panniers. They should 4 rounds next to each other not 3 like in the academy kit, and it should be 4 layers not 2.
I picked up on that in the Speilberger Tiger book TMN1. I’m sure the aftermarket resin interiors are probably superior in accuracy and detail, but the cost of the Academy kit is considerably lower (in this case FREE) than going out and getting resin.

Based on the price of the Academy interior (free) and your excellent modelling skills, I think you will have no trouble with this one Jeff! Of course, thats just my opinion. Semper Fi, Mike
