Hey, guys. Does anyone know where I can get a decent photo of the floor of a Tiger I? Specifically, the floor underneath the torsion bars that cross from one side of the vehicle to the other. In lieu of that, I could do with a description of how they looked. Color, bare metal(?), etc. I am starting a the Border Models Tiger I from Kursk. This will be my first kit from Border. Looking forward to working on it.
The bottom of the hull is only thing below the torsion bars, a false floor was used to prevent the crew from breaking ankles while moving around inside the tank. I believe the floor color was red oxide primer, and of course woren and dirty from the crew troden on it. The turret also has a basket which traverses with the turret that the crew, except driver/ bow gunner, would be stationed at.
Hope this helps and maybe someone will provude a link to or pictures of to help you.
I had assumed red oxide, but; one always hesitates to assume. Museum examples have sometimes been restored with little regard for accuracy, as well. I figured I might stumble across a B&W photo online. I could tell which was cremeweisse and then infer the rest was red oxide. Thanks for the reply.
Try this link for some info.

Never go by a museum restoration. Often times they use what they have in hand which most of the time kind of close or incorrect. Can’t go wrong with oxide red primer.
