on the 8.8 cm rounds that the Tiger I shot, what color were the rounds? the casing was brass color, but what color were the APCBC, HE-FRAG, and HEAT rounds colored? solid black with OD tips? and also in the rounds i got from AFV, some of the casings are brass, and a few are aluminium. did they have aluminium casings also?
I might be able to find some colors for the rounds somewhere, but to answer your question about aluminium casings, no they did not have aluminium casings, but late in the war they did have steel casing s because there was a shortage of brass.
ah, ok. i guess the aluminium is supposed to represent steel then. and if you could find a painting chart for the rounds, it would be greatly appreciated. thanks TMN1
