When I opened the new FSM magazine and seen the Tamiya Page " in the company of tigers" I thought that should keep me busy for a little while. So I ordered all 4 of the little tigers.
I also found a Verlinder tiger 1 engine.
This is the question. Has any one installed this engine? How well does it fit ? Is it worth the time to install it ?
Any thoughts would be great.

I have fitted a Verlinden engine to a Tamiya Tiger I Mid. Generally it was ok, but i found the fitting of some of the pipe work doesn’t work. When the engine is fitted, it gets in the way of some of the pipes, so they can’t go where thet are supposed to. But once you put the hatches on, i just left the large centre hatch open, you can’t see those pipes and it does look nice.
I don’t have any photos of the engine compartment. I still have to do a Diorama for that kit. I can get some at the end of next week if you want to see what it looks like once fitted.
These are the best pics i have of it, though it doesn’t show the engine very well.

The Verlinden set i had also had the fans and fuel tanks. You can see the fan under the laft open hatch. I think they also do a drop in engine which doesn’t come with the fans and tanks, so not sure if thats the one you have. I think they also brought out a newer Tiger engine. If you have that, it may be a better fit than the one i have. I have read that there engine sets are often hard to fit. I have the set for the 251 and thats might to be a right pain to install, but i will find out soon enough.
There is a couple of photos of this tank moving through a village in Normandy and i tried to replicate that photo as closely as possable, hence the helmits and muzzle cover. I built this about 2 and a half years ago and i do intend doing a Diorama for it but haven’t gotten round to it yet. I need to change a couple of things such as the tow ropes and dirty it up a little.
