Dragon’s 6252 initial Tiger was supposed to be the tops, but I don’t normally keep abreast of all the various Tiger kits so there might be better ones out.
The Dragon Initial is supposed to be the best but I have heard good things about the Tamiya Initial as well.
Dragon have several Intial production Tigers which are all based on 6252 with just maybe a few new parts. You can’t really go wrong with any of them, just depends what markings you wnat. I kow 6252 has magic Tracks so no nee for Fruils, not sure about the others.
I’m working on the Tunisian Tiger,Dragon # 6608,pretty nice kit except for the DS tracks,I used Spade Ace # 35001 metal tracks.
Or Dragon #6820 The Bovington Tiger
I think #6600 is the Initial
I believe the re-issue of 6252 has DS tracks.
O, they pulled that trick on that kit as well. I got mine a few years back so was lucky.
Thanks for all the feedback. 6252 looks like a great build but I don’t like using the DS tracks. Would it be friulmodel alt 25 or 116?
Matt
Either should work. But i would hold off the Fruils until you have the kit. You might still be able to get hod of the Magic Track boxing as you don’t know until you see the kit.
I agree, if you get one from eBay, you could get an original kit. And if you do, you’ll get a bunch of goodies with it, such as the magic tracks and a metal barrel. You can tell by looking at the content on the bottom of the box.
EDIT: Also, sellers on eBay may also charge more for the original kit.
Thanks to all for the help! I look forward to building one. Going to do a little more research before I buy anything though.

The re-release of 6252 is actually not as good as 6600. That was supposed to be the “current” version of the kit, superseding 6252.
