After being a Aircraft modeller for several years and before that Games Workshop miniatures and even before that aircraft again…I decided to tackle a few armour projects… I completed a M1A1 Abrams and had fun with that… I then completed a Tiger 1 Tank in standard grey and little effort, I have now purchased a 1:35 Tamiya Mid Production Tiger 1, and also have had to hunt down an interior set and zimmerit set from Verlinden… No problems there… However being an South Australian…let me tell you nearly all Hobby stores here are unwilling to deal with Verlinden for some reason… however I got around this and found a store even willing to deliver the parts once they arrived…
I’ve done some reasearch on the internet regarding tigers… and I have found a few sites, however it makes me ask the question…how many still exist…from nearly 2000 I have been only able to find about 3… is this true? If so…where can I get some decent interior shots… so I can be fairly accurate with this one??
there are only 5 Tiger 1s left
Kubinka
Bovington
Semour
some field in Russia
Sinhiem Germany
if you do a search on this forum a member had photos taken from all around and inside the Tiger 1 from Sinhiem, it was moved to an army camp where the photos were taken
the search is a knightmare so heres the photos

the verlinden tiger interior is based on a late tiger 1
5 is that it???
P-51 Mustangs rate 150 plus in flying condition…
Why so few…where did they go…
I grew up in central Victoria in Australia… if you go driving it is not unusuall to find a few semi-disasemmbled tanks on the road side, I was over there a year ago and saw 2 centurions… when I went past again one of the turrets was moved… obviously a personal collection… just not something you’d expect on the side of the road…
the tigers were used as scrap
last year i went to see the Bovington tiger 1 drive (its the only one thats fully drivable)
heres how they got it working again http://www.tiger-tank.com/
theres 5 Kingtigers left, and only 1 of them is the Porche version
and theres 3 Jagdtigers left
and 2 Sturmtigers
Are you sure that’s it…not any on the Russian wastelands they are not telling us about?
thats including the russians
heres a good site http://www.jagdtiger.de
there is a very rare tank in Australia, its a AT7 German WW1 tank , the only one in the world (the rest were scrapped in WW2)
the Germans wanted it back a couple of years ago but the Ausies said No, so the Germans had to make a Copy for there musium
Where???
Do you have any info… perhaps Canberra?
its a A7V WW1 Tank and its at Queensland Museum in Brisbane, Australia
http://www.westfront.de/englisch/e00069.htm the photo didnt work for me?
Same thing… no image… damn it
Costing wise… I’ve paid around $60 for the kit and $160 for the Verlinden parts… does this sound about right…
WOW.
Captain Caveman, http://www.jagdtiger.de is a outstanding site for reference.
Thanks for the link.
is the in ausie dollers? its near to UK prices for the Tiger but the Verlinden bit have shipping added
if you want tracks for it have a look at WW2 productions tracks
http://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/reviews/vehicles/ww2prod/ww2prod.htm

I’m buying 2 parts the Verlinden exterior zimmerit and the interior…both around $80 ea AUS… hope they are worth it!
have you any idea if you can use the interior in the zimmed turret? i have a zimmed panther set and the turrets solid
ive got the interior for the tiger 1, its ok
yep those are the parts I have ordered alright… the zimmerit is brass… so it wont interfere with the interior
I just need info…does someone have photo’s…preferably close-ups of components…any help will do!
look around on the net, plenty of info. Also these other guys have already given some great links. good luck to you.
