Coming along nicely I think. Hull and turret interior completed. Thanks to peridexion and the rest of the crew for reference pics. Styrene sheet, balsa, left over and modified PE got the turret done. I’ve got about 80 hours in so far. Now on to hatches, cupola detail and of course, the external finish.
Very nice work. It all looks great. But I’m an engine fan myself. Post some closeups of that prime mover!!! Was that part of the kit? In many models, even those that have interiors included, the engine is ignored.
Hey I -Beam, - That’s totally scratchbuilt Maybach in there. Very little of what you see in the office of the Tiger was supplied in the kit. This 1/25th scale was an old RC model released in the 70’s, some of the interior was provided but it was almost totally inaccurate.
Do a forum search for my earlier progress posts when I was building the hull and you’ll pick up those engine close ups.
OK Steve, I’ll look for the earlier posts. Great work again. I’m bashing a little 1/72 Ford 8 cylinder GAA right now to put inside my sherman. It’s good to see other people do work on the engines.
Help me out buddy, I’d love to “wire” the FuG, but,…? other than the wires coming out of the back, I don’t know what you mean. I ran power harnesses out the back and down the trans housing…what else can I do? do you have a reference you could share?
Steve I mean the wiring on the front , for the radio operator . there are typically links between the different components coming out of the front as well .
The pic I posted is from a StuH but shows what I am talking about ,(Fug4?)
Typical setup for Tiger and Panther tanks was the Fug 5 assembly
Thanks to everyone for the comments. It’s amazing what you can do with all the spares and other bits and pieces that the spares bin accumulates. I would like to take the opportunity to petition the model companies to release some large scale armor with full and accurate interiors. I think the market is there. DML, are you listening???
