Here’s to the brave soldiers and sailors that fought that horrible battle. There sacrifices were not in vain. Many American bomber crews used it as a safe haven. A costly battle that saved lives.
I think it’s appropriate. Thank you for posting that. I have know a couple of people who served through that campaign and to see them say the word “Iwo” makes an impression on you.
