Just heard news about the tornados that have been hitting the Ft.Rucker area, more specifically Enterprise. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those in the area. I was stationed at Ft.Rucker from 1991-1997 and at one time did live in Enterprise. Very hard to imagine something like this happening, guess I’m still in shock.

Amen! My prayers are with them.

Just got an email reply from Jon (Cobrahistorian) who is at Ft. Rucker now and living in Enterprise. He is 2 miles from the H.S, that was hit. Luckily, he reports that he and the family are fine and no damage to their house.

Thanks for that report, Gino… I was thinking about Jon, and a few others down that way I haven’t heard from yet. A terrible, terrible thing to happen! It’s hard to imagine Enterprise any other way than it is… bless those people’s hearts!

Amen to that. I got some of the preliminary reports from the Aviation branch in Rucker through the government network, but the details i got were sketchy at best. Glad Cobrahistorian is doing ok.

My thoughts go out to those who have been hit by the tornados. I live in Iowa, and we get hit with them a lot. Although, right now we are in the midst of the second blizzard to hit this week. They had to close down ALL highways and interstates in the state. I-80 and I-35. In all my years, I reckon aint never seen both of them there interstates closed down at once.

Thanks guys. We’re headed to the disaster area tomorrow (sunday) to help out clearing debris, etc. Things in my neighborhood are fine, thankfully. The storm was moving southwest to northeast. Had it deviated a mile and a half eastward, it’d have gone right through my neighborhood. Very scary. Thankfully both me and the Mrs. were up on post at the time.
