those wild and wacky felines

Oh I love the cats. Yes, the ones my wife and her sister brought into the house about 6 or so years ago. I love them as much as I would love to contract… well you know what. I have been painstakingly working on a hasegawa stuka which has stalled because of lost instructions, and a monogram P39 aircobra. Interesting about the aircobra is the amount of detail they provide in the gun bay and the rear mounted engine. It requires more masking than usual before you paint the fuselage. So, each is sitting on my desk in my basemnat room, across from the TV and shelving area I have. It is a great room. Unfortunatley, there is a window in this basement room that the idiots like to sit in. Unfortunatley, as brothers from the same womb, they like to fight over the window space. Needless to say, to get to the window, they must climb over my work bench. So, as Hershey, the fat head, was chasing Sabu on Sunday, they knocked the large light I have over my desk, off its sehlf. Crash right on the aircobra which I have been working on for 6 weeks. Had just pimed it yesterday over a lousy hand painted camo scheme I did when I startyed it 2 years ago. So, needless to say, I am repairing broken horizontal stabilizer and luckily, that is it. The Stuka, was forcibly moved in the incident, but appears unscathed. Those wild and whacky felines, don’t you love em?

Yeah, they are great. aren’t they? When I was building my 1/48 PB4Y-1 one of mine jumped up onto the side modeling desk right into the nearly complete aircraft. Cat and model slide off into the small gap between the desk and the window - the cat of course had a near panic attack trying to get out of the space clawed the s**t out of one wing on the bomber and busted off several smaller pieces. He knows he is not allowed into the modeling room any longer - sits right outside the door and just watches.

I like cats without fur, like wildcats, hellcats, tomcats, panthers, tigers, bearcats, tigercats, I think you’re probably seeing a pattern here…

See my tips topic in the general modelling discussion forum, re cats & claymore’s…

Sometimes I think I’m lucky I don’t have a cat…

After hearing about my friends cats ruining his Christmas tree, and now this, I think they were made to be evil to us modelers lol…

Sadly, my mother is absolutly disgusted by animals of all shapes and forms (including some humans [:D]), so it’s a miracle that we have a dog. She would never dream of allowing them inside because they shed all over the upholstery and leave, uh… little presents. [:D]

Swanny: If he’s godzilla in 1/48, i’d hate to see him in 1/72!

Cats are nothing compaired to a puppy witha lot of time on her hands. Aside from trying to knock over my work table in an attempt to play, the UPS guy didn’t see her and he left a Tamiya 1/32 Scale F-15 in the yard. When I got home five hours later the largest piece of the box you could just make out the tracking code. As for the kit it’ll be a real test to put that one together. Good thing the hobby shop got UOS to cover it or she’d be in the doghouse for a long long time.

I guess I am lucky my cat just sits on my computer desk and sleeps, even then she gets on the very top so not to be on my keyboard. Never have I ever seen her on my model desk. Maybe she knows it will be her last day on the planet if she go’s where no cat has gone before.

I’m also lucky. I adopted my cat from the animal shelter four years ago, and he’s never touched any of my planes. I even have a couple of bookcases that have models on the bottom shelf. He will go “Psycho Kitty” at night sometimes, but he’s well-behaved.

(don’t believe what you hear about black cats-he’s a womderful cat.)

It is a long running battle between dog vs cat lovers…
For me cats uber alles…At the village ranch we have around 15!!!, and not a single dog!!!

Funny you should mention “Wacky Felines”…

I received an article via e-mail a couple days ago about a little Putty Tat that completed it’s “9-Lives” tour the 1st of January up in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, after it had opened a full grown Mare in this fellow’s pasture. According to the article, his wife began yelling at the cat, as hubby ran into the house to get his 7mm rifle.

As he returned to the front steps, he passed wifey in the living room, still yelling, except now, it’s in a fit of terror!! The sweet, adorable little ball of fur was in full gallop heading straight for the house! The legendary knock-down power of the 7mm came in handy on this day, and Putty was dropped 70ft from their front door!

This is scary… over the weekend, I heard of similar unprovoked attacks by Cougars out on the west coast… one of which, led to the death of a Mountain Biker!

I have 7 cats. My parents think I’m mad. I didn’t. Until now.

I was just putting the finishing touches to a nice little 1/48 EC135 'chopper, then one of the little b’stards knocked the thing off my modelling table when i went to get a drink…my lovely EC135 has no rotor blades anymore…

Still gotta love 'em though…

My cats don’t get on my models, and if they did I agree that it would be their last day on earth. Actually Gunther is like 15 or so and doesn’t care to do anything anymore…(pixilater like you he came from a shelter). The other one is very young, she is the one I worry about because she tears around like a cyclone, but luckly she hasn’t done anything stupid…yet.
Actually the most bothersome is the dog…he doesn’t do anything to the models but I can’t be rid of his stray hairs. ( he has a very thick coat!) But at least when he lays at my feet at the model table, no feline dares come around…yeah right![:)]

Cats?
I love 'em!!! Taste like chicken!!! [dinner]
Remember the new slogan. “Cat. The OTHER white meat.”

The only reason some of you guys don’t like cats is 'cuz they have more ballz’n you do. [;)]

I like both cats and dogs, but I haven’t had the company of a dog in soooo long. And living with a total of 18 FFF’s (Furry Feline…uh… Friends) for a number of years can really sway one’s opinion. We’re down to seven now, but there used to be 12 in the house and 5 in the garage for a period of ten years or so.

I can deal with alotta cats, they’re mostly chilled and quiet unless someone’s nose gets outta joint. Then it’s holy-hell 'round here and BOY can the kids can get rowdy. But mostly it’s quite serene.

Dogs, on the other hand, are too damn loud, especially if you have several. And they’re also quite… clumsy, often times. Maybe that’s not the right word but they’re not as nimble as their feline counterparts. I’ve yet to see a dog walk across my workbench without disturbing a single item. Come to think of it, I’ve yet to see a cat do that either! [:p]

Actually, several of the kids have been through the model shop without disturbing anything. But when they have done something they better find a soundproof hiding spot real quick! [}:)]

For those who are interested, here’s some shots of some of the gang…

Kit Kat “Princess Summer-Fall-Winter Fat-Fur”

Fric “Fricker-Clicker” “The Mouth” “Herb”

Apple-Dumpling “The Dumpster” Leader of the Apple-Dumplin’ Gang (We lost this gal not too long ago… [V] )

CC “Cal-i-co” “Brat-Cat” “Hobbes”

This was a shot that I’d been trying to get for a long time; it ain’t perfect, but I got it…

Fade to Black…

heh, someone needs to PhotoShop that last pic and put a cape on him LOL

We’ve got two cats. Boots and Lemmiwinks, but only Lemmiwinks is young enough to go running around tearing stuff up. The worst she’s done to my modeling desk is to scatter some small parts around where I had to hunt them down to use them. A few weeks blasting her with a water gun kept her off my table for good. I like cats an awful lot, but I like dogs a bit more. In an apartment though, you can’t really have a dog of any consequence. I used to have a great rottweiler and I miss him quite a bit. When I buy a house, I’ll get a dog and keep the cats as well.

Maddafinga - Was Lemmiwinks named after the gerbil on South Park? The one Mr. Garrison used for his “demonstration?”

Hahaha… sounds as if all those cats HAVE you by tha “ballz”![:D]

Are the words: Acute Francisella Tularensis(feline tularemia), Lymphoreticular or Hematopoetic Infection (cat sratch fever), familar? If one ever becomes aquainted with one of these, that cat’s ballz may very well outsize ones own! [:0][xx(][:0]

Yikes!!
