Can someone please confirm for me that this stuff has the same modeling properties as Americas all-time favourite clear coat? I vaguely remember someone saying that this was almost (or plainly) identical to Future.
If it is the stuff is there anything else I should know about the it? Directions, side affects (on models) etc?

Similar, but not the same as Future. According to Swanny’s definitive article on Future:
"In Australia the Future’s past is long and convoluted. Originally it went under the name “Stride Right” or “Super Stride” then the name was changed to “Shine Magic” or "Super Shine”. Then, in January 2002 the product was discontinued! Through inquiries to the S.C. Johnson distributor in N.S.W. I have learned of another product that is very similar to Future called “Pledge One Go”. Peter Johnstone (a helpful Aussie modeler) has tested this product and reports that it works very well on clear parts and seems to be compatible with model paints and acrylics. He also reports that it demonstrates the wonderful self leveling properties that we see in Future and dries fairly quickly."
It’s close but not quite the same, but it’s about as close as you will get in the supermarket.
As far as I am aware, there is no direct equivalent. Where the original Future (now Pledge with Future shine) is crystal clear, Pledge “One Go” has a brownish colour to it.
It’s great for clear part dipping, but I am not all that impressed with it as a clear coat. It’s not really a very high gloss (as Future is) and leaves more of a satin finish. My understanding is that it also contains some detergents
Personally, I prefer to use Tamiya X-22 Clear Gloss.
Why didn’t some Australian hobby shop import the FUTURE from US for modeling use only. It is so cheap in the US. It is worth it even if the importer has to pay regular airmail postage.
A bottle of FUTURE will last the modeler a life time. I paid 89 cents US dollar and barely use 5% of it in the last 2 years.
