This might sound stupid

[?][:I]but what is “future” Awhere do you buy it when do you use it?
Will

Look a few lines up at the sticky topic entitled “The Complete Future”

I’ve just started using future myself. And from what I hear, you can use it on anything (almost). It is a acrylic based floor wax (but its not really wax, though). If you dip your canopies in it, it will make them look more shiny. It also works with decals. If you spray future over the entire model, it will give you a nice smooth surface for the decals. Although, you will probably want to put a flat coat on it to kill the shine (unless that’s what you want). I think I have also heard of using it for things like filling gaps (like putty) and top coats of various sheens. If you haven’t already read this, you should; its packed with information. http://www.swannysmodels.com/TheCompleteFuture.html [:)]

thank you

+1 on the Swannysmodels site. Lots of good info there.

Thanks Swanny![bow]

Glad to help.

Swanny, your website is great, thank you for your tips!

Future is great-but you have to wait until tomorrow to use it! Sorry!

Dan

Be careful not to OVER use it. Nothing looks more out of place than a bright, shiney, new-looking canopy on a weather-worn old fighter warhorse----unless it’s in a diorama showing a maintenance crew replacing it.

A Crew Chief may not always wipe down the belly of an aircraft but he/she never ever forgets to clean and polish the windshield and canopy prior to each flight. Even on the inside where the pilots helmet leaves marks, you will find the CC buffing out the marks. The windshield and canopy is the cleanest and shinyest part of an aircraft.

Yeah, don’t want the pilot saying, “bogey, 2 o’clock hiOH wait, just a smudge!” or a plane comming in behind a smudge. a pilots eye’s are the best weapon, and a clear, clean canopy is what they need!
