Just as a general rule of thumb what is a good point to start?
I’ve heard so many different things, some say 1:1 some say 3 parts thinner to 1 part paint. Just want to get a nice smooth colour down in 2 or 3 coats.
I’ve tried both and to be honest neither worked as I was painting gloss white acrylic which has a mind of it’s own from all accounts!
The airbrush manufacturers I know of recommend 1part paint to 0~0,5 part thinner(not specified)
Dan, using Tamiya thinner I usually go with 1 part thinner to 1 part paint for starters, with about 15 PSI for the air.
Cheers…Snowy
Thanks guys. I was trying to airbrush it on at 25 psi!
Mind you if I ever need a sandblasted effect I know what to do!!
For tamiya, I tend to go with 2 parts paint to 1 part thinner. Worked so far.
I remember reading somewhere, that your paint should have the consistency of milk.
Hope this helps.
