Thinning Dullcoat

[B)]Well, I need some help thinnint Testors dullcoat. I used some laquer thinner but when I sprayed it onto my model it came out white[:(!] I have no I dea what happened. I think it was the thinning. So, What do You guys use to thin it? and what Ratio? Also Is there is a certain PSI that you use?
Thanks!

The white was caused by using too much thinner, and/or spraying from too far away, causing some of the spray atomized Dullcote to dry in the air before it got to the model. This usually also has a gritty texture as well as the whiteish color. I don’t use Dullcote anymore, switched to Polly Scale Flat, but I have used it extensively in the past. I usually only thinned it about 20%, using lacquer thinner, sprayed at about 20psi from about 3". But that’s with my compressor/AB set up, youre set up could vary.

Regards, Rick

I to have switched to Polllscale but when using Testors Dullcoat I always thinned it with Testors Lacquer Thinner 1159X.

Darren

Thanks guys, I’ll be giving it another Go.
