Thinking about a paint marker

I am considering whether to paint the brass retaining strips on IJN linoleum decks. Previously I built in 1/700 scale and am starting up again, but I also have plans for some 1/350 destroyers and cruisers. Would a paint marker be fine enough? Or do I just need to face reality - which means masking, even more masking, lol.

Any recommendations on a brand? I primarily am using Tamiya and Ammo Atom acrylic paints at the moment.

Not sure if they would work for your application,but I have few of the AK-Real Paint markers.I use them for rubber rims on roadwheels,the red edging on landing gear doors,the chrome on landing gear,they work great.
