What is the ratio to thin Tamyia Acryilcs?
Thanks Greg
Hi Speed, you can start with 50% acrylic and 50% thinner. Mix and see if the it is like a skimmed milk.
I’ll put my 2 cents worth in here. I use 2 parts paint to 1 part thinner (Tamiya X-20A) and have had excellent results.

For me it depends on the individual colour of paint. some are thicker then others. Most Tamiya acrylics that I use are thin enough straight out of the bottle. Others do need a little thinner added but to me there’s no exact science involved, I thin til it has the consistency of milk.
Does everyone consistently use tamiya thinner? I’ve just used water up until now, and haven’t had any problems with it. However, I have found that VERY LITTLE water is needed, and it becomes all to easy to ‘overthin’ the mixture, to the point that I don’t get solid coverage.
There is no correct ratio. Anywhere to up to 70% thinner would work. I tend to thin from 33% to 50% thinner.
I’ll say it’s up near 50 - I never seem to add enough and it really feels like my air brush is working to get it out
