It says 1944, but these would be suitable for Stalingrad? The scene looks right, but the boots with gaiters look wrong?
Low-cut ankle boots weren’t prominently worn in combat (usually with gaiters that weren’t made until '43) until 1943, but (they were in inventories long before) we’re in limited use (I’ve mainly seen them on Afrika Korp, rear-echelon and staff troops)…all refs I’ve seen tend to show the high jackboots on infantrymen at Stalingrad…if it were my dio I’d try to use the high jackboots just because that’s what was commonly seen…the newer model 43 tunics (with field-grey collars) were seen at Stalingrad, but weren’t as common as the model 36 tunic…
