There's nothing like an unexpected move ...

… to shoot your modeling projects square in the rear end. We had 2 weeks to find a new place and get out, so there was a lot of chucking stuff into boxes, hauling them to the new place, dumping out the boxes and heading back for more.

My current build is a 1/700 attack transport. I have the shoebox the ship was in, and the one with the dockyard diorama base. Just missing a few things like, ummm … tools. And all my small paintbrushes. The one tin of WEM Light Gray 5-L has turned up, but none of my other paints. It’s all here. Somewhere. [banghead]

Wait, did you move all your stuff to the new home or did you hire movers to move all the stuff? Oh, and the million dollar question…where did you move?[?]

Two weeks notice? Normally one has to receive 30 days notice. So who packed the stuff? Who gets the finger pointed at them? I hate moving…having been in and around the military (even as a kid) I know all to well about it.

Thats one thing I have never experinced,I have lived in the same house for all my 39 years. I just looked around and thought about it I would have ALOT of stuff to move lol…

When I got out of the AF I had 16,000 pounds of stuff! Of course that was well over my authorized limit…I had to pay the difference back to Uncle Sugar…that put a dent in my modeling budget for a long long time.[V] I’ve only moved once since then and I tossed a lot of stuff I didn’t need…but some how it was replaced with other stuff that I probably don’t need either. [:-^]

Just the garage alone would be a nightmare. My tool box empty weighs 1800lbs and its jammed full. Plus 3 welders a brake, drill press, big steelwork table. I could go on and on need a big u-haul with a lift gate.

Just last week my room-mate and I decided to move from a two bedroon apartment to a three bedroom apartment so her son would have his own space, and like Hawkeye, I hate moving. They’re Greek and he’ll be back here for school next week (Junior year in HS). I also spend a lot of time and money on R/C planes so I was looking forward to having a big spare room to use for my modeling. Turns out, the third room is smaller than the one I had before [V]. I spent 9 years in the AF, and 11 now as a civilian. In 20 years I’ve lived in 8 States and have had 18 different mailing addresses! Did I mention I hate moving?

You really find out how delicate your models are when you have to move.
