I’m getting on the band wagon here with an opportunity for some shameless self-promotion [:D]
I’ve posted the 190, I-16 and P-40 on here before, but what the hey. If nothing else, I realised after taking these pics that I must dust more frequently. (Especially the XP-77)
Hope you enjoy looking as much as I enjoyed building:
Tamiya P-47M OOB with Eagle Strike"?" decals:
Czech Model 1/48 XP-77. Yes, folks, it is buildable [;)] Now, if only I had dusted it before the pictures.
Eduard I-16 type 24 no decals, all masked and sprayed. I’m pretty proud of this one:
Hasegawa 1/48 scale Bf-109E-3 in Swiss service. Again all paint, no decals except the ocatane stencils.
Hasegawa P-40N with Black Box cockpit and Eagle Strike Decals:
Beautiful work Justen! You should be very proud of those, especially with those aircraft with the painted markings. Well done! The I-16 looks especially nice. My favorite though is that P-40, my very favorite P-40 markings. Love the slap-dash look with the jaw of the skull and the tiger eye. [^]
Thanks Nam! The XP-77 is an interesting subject. It just looks cool too. I have another one of these kits that I’m toyng with the idea of doing in a “What-if” ADC scheme.
Thanks Trexx, I’m glad you like. The P-40 certainly tells a tale.
The funny thing about the I-16 is that it practically built itself. I got it for X-mas last year and was just fiddling with the parts, checking fit and such. I got into doing the cockpit and had the whole thing togethor in about two and a half hours. Its my first and only VVS a/c, but I plan on getting a few more of these from Eduard simply because it was such a FUN build. It really is a neat plane. Kind of like an armed Gee Bee Racer. [:D]
