Before i get going on my Zeke(Zero) i was wondering if it’s paint was prone to chipping. Were they heavily chipped, moderetely… I cant really find a good pic of one, so can u guyz help me out?
dadfad, the Zero fighter typically didn’t shed its paint like the Army fighters did. There are a few photos around showing large bare-metal areas on the top of the fuselage behind the cockpit on airplanes that are obviously not operational, but that’s relatively rare. You will see chipping off the rivet heads on the wings, and the leading edges will show wear about like US fighters, some scuffing around the step areas and the canopy frames.

This is the most comprehensive source of info on WW II Japanese aircraft I have found. I could spend hours at this site.
Hope this helps !
