The twins are starting to shape up

See, I’m involved in this group build over on ARC (http://www.aircraftresourcecenter.com) and it’s all about twin engine aircraft hence ‘The Twins’ thing. So here’s the progess so far …
Here are the twins, my 1/48 He-111B ‘Pedro’ and the ESCI 1/48 B-26B Marauder standing on their own feet finally.

They are almost ready for some paint. It may be difficult to see but the top two panels on the nose of the Pedro are still open - they are seperate pieces to be installed next and are very difficult to size and place.
Here is the Marauder from this morning just before closing up the fuselage

You can see there is quite a bit of lead in the radio compartment to hold the nose down, almost a half a pound!!! There was no option to stuff any in the engine nacelles as they are full engines in there but I did shave the insides of the tail planes to cut weight back there.
And finally here is a shot of the work space as it sits tonight

Thanks for letting me bounce this stuff off you guys - happy modeling!

Looking good Swanny! Hey are you gonna leave that mess there?[(-D]

Coming right along, Swanny. Did you get some white metal gear legs for the B-26? That’s a lotta weight there.

lookin’ good Swanny so what are you going to paint the Baltimore whore?

As usual, Swanny. I am impressed.
Keep us posted, as I know you will.

Whoa! what is up with all this themed simultanious building?!? We’ve got pix over here doing his four axis birds at the same time, and swanny’s doing two twin-engines! [:D] Once again Swanny, I’m taken aback by the amount of thought that goes into one of your creations… is that a wash on the interior of the marauder? talk about being thorough! can’t wait to see them when they’re all painted! [:D]

That Marauder interior is lookin sweet man. I like it! The only twin engine bird I’ve done is a ME110. I want to do a nice 25 sometime. Maybe I’ll have to break out my HE111 after I get done with this P47 I’m workin on.

Great looking builds so far!

awesome swanny!!

Coming along nicely, Swanny. The interior of that Marauder looks awesome. Great work!

Mighty fine, Swanny. Your progress puts me to shame- I’m still fussing with the wings on my H-10. Hopefully I can post some photos later today… [:I]

Shrikes - that is a wash made from Higgins ink, water, soap and flow aid
She doesn’t look like your standard 111 anymore.

Awesome! That’s two-fisted modelling, by golly![:D]

Swanny. You really need to watch how you word your subject lines from now on!!!
I thought it was a post for one of the Hooter’s girls!!! [:P][:-,][:P][:-,][:P][yeah]

I’m really focusing on the Pedro this week and just doing little things on the Marauder inbetween. Primed the Pedro and have the white tips done now, tonight I’ll mix up some RLM 77 and dress her in a overcoat of it then the landing gear can be installed permanently. Another day and she gets some Future and decals and weathering and…and…and …I can hardly wait! They just seem to take on a life of their own at this point.

I also did a little restructure to the build article to read more like a diary, let me know what you think of it.

Wow. Great job. I wondered where you place the weights to be effective. Nice work on both kits.

I like the new build article. It seems to be a little easier to follow.

That bird is looking great Swanny, can’t wait to see it painted the rest of the way…hope you know I was joking about the mess…mine is much worse![:D]

AHA! The true reason how coconuts got into Britain!

Forget about migrating swallows…

Looking absolutley lovely, by the way…
