jeff - when the kit was new, they were very expensive. I was able to get eight of them for $30 each. This is my favorite kit of all time, and I’m not a fan of Tamiya’s stuff. Since Tamiya’s kit is more expensive and less work is required to build it (the work is what I enjoy the most), I’ll never buy one. Fit and ease of assembly are unimportant to me. I enjoy the “diamond in the rough” kits. They give me a feeling of accomplishment I don’t get from easier kits.
