THE OFFICIAL IN THE BUFF B52 GROUP BUILD

Russ:

Yeah,

Tiny eggs at that!

Nice they do not have any flashings to clean up.

I hope my glue scheme holds them together.

Yes, we owe you credit for the steady application of the yellow stripes.

It’ll keep me occupied fer’ a wyll!..lol

Russ, again, most of us never worked so up close over so many years as yourself and other

regarded company, so, please ramble on as you see fit, can’t make it up, so you might as

well just tell it like it is/was, always interested to know. i didn’t know they pulled the doors back a bit like that, can’t learn enough for knowledge’s sake.

Dom

SHIIIISSSSHHH - KAAA - BBOBBBBB!!!

MY SUPPLIER ONLY SENT 72 MK-82’S…LOL

The dog ran off with a package, bastige

I got a bit excited when I noticed I only had 72 eggs present and accounted for…

Kripes, if he had eaten them, he wudda’ dunn me a faver!!!

Dom

Something’s wrong, Dom. You showed 7 boxes in your picture and with 12 usable bombs per box, that should be a total of 84. It looks like they shorted you.

Ahh… wait… those arent Verlindin boxes. Sorry, maybe there aren’t as many in the Master’s Choice version.

Russ

LOL…Russ, I was going mildly insane for a second.

After i finished the pictures, I took down the stack of boxes,

and immediately proceeded to lose one, but didn’t realize it.

Then i was wondering if a wandering black-hole ate it, the dog ate it,

the carpet ate it…Kripes…just like magic…poof…it was gone…

I found the dang thing, it had fallen between the computer and the desk…

Shishhh…

One other thing, after I saw your modifications to the engine mounts,

I had to go back and ‘adjust’ them, so in order to rebuild the exhausts,

i had to take them all apart, kinda’ snakes and ladders on that project…[:)]

Dom

By the awy, those are Verlinden, packaged in that box/brand.

I have to tip my hat to you having the patience to construct those little eggs…lol

Dom

Disregarding! [:P]

Russ,

“Disregarding” here as well!!![:P]

Why is I never get tired of see mama lay those crater eggs???

I even get to like the sound track.

But nothing like that high-pitched sound…the hair on the back of my neck always goes up

when I hear that sound…KRIPES[:P]

Dom

Lol Dom! I know what you mean [:D].

Since you got the bomb rolling, here’s a link to some interesting videos of the Arc Light campaign:

Cheers,

Russ

Russ:

Seeing those clips in that video sure is humbling. Talk about artillery.

Also those multiple rows of craters and the expanding shock waves gives an indication

of the path of destruction. Still awesome after all these years;

Never see it coming, and yeah, if you can hear them, it is too late to run.

Thanks,

Dom

Hello all!

I have some extra decals for anyone interested. They come from Warbird Decals

Gulf War G models

Treasure Hunter a/c 80168 (Wurtsmith AFB)

What’s Up Doc? a/c 80182 (Wurtsmith AFB)

Grim Reaper a/c 92582 (Barksdale AFB)

NASA H model

a/c 61025 (At K. I. Sawyer, this plane was named Shack Rabbit and it was my crew’s plane. Now it is the way cool NASA replacement for The High and The Mighty B model)

My terms are:

A hearty thank you and you have to do a good deed for another modeller.

Remeber, promote the hobby!

J-Dub,

I got a spot fer em all

Allen

Jim,

61-0025 is now a GIA airframe at Sheppard AFB. NASA decided they didnt need it after that fancy white paintjob. (Always hated being the bearer of bad news. That beautiful bird forvere grounded…)

Not trying to do Al out of anything, he snagged 'em first, but I’m always open to negotiation.

Again Al, no sweat if you want that set, not trying to double up Jim’s postage here!

Those are great words to live by and model by Jim!

Dom

Allen,

I tried that search - didn’t work.

Russ

Hey, All

Here are a couple of pictures of Buffjock’s current project. He says he still has to add some gear parts like TPG and main gear doors and do some decals, but this will give everyone the idea. Next photos will be the finished product. Then its on to either a B-52E Im gonna do or the Tu-95.

Looks fabulous from here Al!

Those stretch sections look natural, and the engines look great![Y][Y]

Thanks for posting those Russ!

Dom

Thanks again to Russ, and to all who actually think my old heaps look good…[D]

Allen:

You may call them ‘old heaps’, but here’s the thing:

They are the right kind of ‘old heaps’, and I think

they look great.[t$t]

That CIA kit is looking very sinister and menacing, looking forward to seeing

it finished.

Dom

Sinister… I love it!! Ive always thought the B-52 would look bad in black and sinister is just the thing that comes to my twisted mind.

Dom, Coupla things. How do I get a GB pic on my posts and what did you have to build to get that second pic?

Allen

Allen,

You’ll need to be able to post your pics on a web-page like PhotoBucket first, once you’ve uploaded them,

you ‘right-click’ on one you want to post and select ‘copy image location’ or something similar depending on your browser.

Using ‘rich formatting’ to create your post, choose a place in your post to put a picture with your cursor, then you select the little icon that looks like a green piece of film; it is on the right of the second row of icons in the text menu bar. When you select it a dialogue box pops up, and you paste your location in the white rectangle. Your picture should show up, and then you click ‘insert’, and it should show up in your post.

let me know how you make out.

As for the Buff pictures, if you are looking at the aluminum, I used extruded aluminum to build internal wing spars in order to permanently flex the wings as if the Buff was in hi-load G’s. You can see the upward flex in a few of the pics. As you probably already know, those wing tips could flex a total of 27 feet arc length, over 13 feet either up or down, just a massive amount of flex, and unique to the BUFF. The upward flex always reminded me of a large predatory bird…no pun intended there…

I ended up riveting the whole assembly together, if I ever find those pics I’ll post them,

Dom
