It is never too late to try something new. If you are itching to do it…go ahead. Those munsters don’t bite, I suppose.

lol what kind of paints do i use??? artists acrylics???

water???

need help

I prefer acrylics because I can use them indoors without being bothered by the strong smell of some paints. I can also use water or alcohol as thinners and these are also very safe to use indoors.

after you paint, do you seal it with a dull coat???

littlemoe,

As I build alot of figures and have built the Munsters- I can speak here.
I’m assuming this is the polar lights re-issue of the old aurora munster living room. Its a cool kit- but does have some fit problems common to a 1964 model. Some gap filling is in order. I use acrylic craft paints almost exculsivley- (See my three stooges article in last month’s FSM.)
Prime well with something like Krylon gray primer. Thin with water or rubbing alcohol. Dull coat is good- but I don’t always apply it. You can airbrush if you like- but clean the gun completely or it will freeze it solid.
I did not follow painting directions in the kit- but used my judgement on the furnishings. The musters themselves were very bluegreen in “real life” This is so they would photograph gray on the black and white series. Color photos of the cast can be found on the internet. Hope this helps.
