I feel that pain, I had a cat jump up, get tangled in the rigging, and drag my CSS Alabama through the house and down the stairs. Over 1500 hrs in it and I was building it on a commission. The Lady who was going to buy it was on her way over to see it.
I’m not one to hurt an animal, but if I hadn’t had my wife to keep me from the gun safe, then I would had to explain to the landord the bloodstain on the carpet and bullet hole in the wall.
Anyone see the movie “Shinning”? Thats what I was like for the next few days. Kitty had to go to a safe house.
I have two cats as well. One is very old, and mostly sleeps. Even when she was younger though, she would stil be able to walk on my hobby shelf among my models and not disturb a thing. She never chewed on anything or tried to play with it. She seemed to know not to touch any of my models.
My other cat is a tgerror. He knows not to climb on the entertainment center, but I always know when he does because some solar panels come off my Babylon 5 kit, and several other things are moved around. Since we ‘cluttered’ the top with more stuff, he hasn’t gone back up there.
On top of my desk hutch we don’t have enough things to ‘clutter’ it up, so I tried leaving sufficient room for him to walk and/or lay down without disturbing anything. It worked, but then I hit the desk, and now my Calypso is in pieces!
My other 900 or so models are in the second bedroom of our two-bedroom condo which always stays closed and no cats are allowed in. They both know it, but my one younger cat just loves me so much he still tries to get in to see me. When he fails, he just sits right outside, as if guarding the door for me.
Of my two moggies, Sam is the anti-modeller. He waits and observes his prey for a long time, then with more stealth than a F-117A and faster than a F-14 on full reheat-he attacks!
Just as I’m gluing two fuselage halves together, he pounces straight onto my lap and there’s cathair and glue all over me!

Once upon a time, somebody posted a thread in this folder titled “Can Cats and Models Get Along?” If it’s still on here (it was posted way over a year ago so it’s defintely buried deep), it’s got some wild cat vs. model stories.
1/1 cat Vs. 1/24 subaru impreza . who will win ? in my case it was libby who won. so i had to strip and repaint the body. !@#$%^ cat. but i doubt they do it on purpose. so libby is still ok
