The Kermit Weeks P-51C

Here is half my entry in the “Once Were Warriors” GB. The plane is 99.9% done. Will start to work on the hanger interior soon. LOTS of problems with the model, some due to a 1st time chrome usage but also, too many of my own doing.[V]

Thanks for looking

Problems with a Tamiya kit? Is that even possible?[;)] Well if you DID have problems, I can’t see any. It’s beautiful! Excellent work!

Thanks Mark. Sorry … not with the kit… that went togther flawlessly. Finsihing and painting boo-boo’s. That’s why only I get to see the closeups and the underside[:-^]

Looks good from here Marc. Thanks for sharing.

Regards, Rick

Marc, that’s…uhh…Blindingly Beautiful. You mentioned Chrome. Is that the paint from an automotive supply? If so, that’s a great idea for ‘new’ or ‘polished’ aluminum effect.

I gotta go get my sunglasses. BRB.[tup]

Ooo, shiny! Seriously, I can’t find anything wrong in the finish. It’s a beautiful aircraft.

Beautiful… please share!

Jeez Louise! I gots’da get me some shades so’s I can seez what I’s lookin’ at…

Nice…

Fade to Black…

WOW! Nice one Marc. [bow]

Thanks guys.

Preston, That is Alclad II Chrome. Is there an automotive paint that is that shiny?

Ooooooohhhhh… shiny! [:D]

Looks great.

Looks awesome Marc! Just in case some forum members think it’s too shinny, here’s what Marc is going after.

Well done Marc!!

Jerry

Okay, now I gots me some shades… dat looks reeeeal nice!

Just in case ya’ll ain’t blind enough by now, here’s a couple other shots of the real deal…

Wayne Dippold photo (Wayne is our very own eagle334, although I don’t believe that he’s been on FSM lately. If I’m not mistaken, he took this photo on his honeymoon… hell, even I’d get married just to have a honeymoon at Kermit’s place!)

Marty McGuire photo (Marty was a member of my model club, but he quit the hobby and the closest he gets to building models these days is assembling those prepainted airliner desk models… poor fella… [:P])

Fade to Black…

Nothing to complain about from here, Marc…looks exceptionally well done. Great looking shine

Marc,

Great looking finish from what I can see. I haven’t tried AlcadII yet but eventually want to. Great job.

Matt

Thnaks guys.

And nice pics of the real deal. DANG that is one gorgeous airplane.
