Although I spent so much time building that I wasn’t here much.
In this shot is a King Tiger (ready for weathering) and it’s accompanying NZ 950(?) motorcycle, M4A3 Sherman 105 (For the GB, getting pastels), Kubelwagen (For GB, needs decals and weathering) Sd.Kfz 250/9 (Needs a little more paint, decals and weathering), 2 1/2 ton 6x6 truck and M3A2 half track (being backdated to M3) about half built. These are all Tamiya and were (are) a joy to build. The hardest part was backdating the M3.
I am REALLY behind on these GBs![:I] That KT set me back about 3 days in painting, the camo is hard edge and my hands aren’t too steady sometimes when I haven’t had a drink in a few days (some of you knew of this now you all do). [:I][] The good news being that the drinking is no longer completely out of control[:D] but i digress and that is wwwaayyyyyyyyyyyyyy OT.
I’ll post more pictures in the appropriate threads when I can take some - hopefully tomorrow - as the weather has been cloudy and lighting isn’t too good.
Ah, a boat I’m going to be in all too soon. June 30th, my current contract will expire. I’m actually sort of looking forward to it, since I’ll have a month and a half of sitting around, making models, till September [:)]
They look good Derek.
That’s funny to because I just came from the Sherman GB web page and saw your name and though to myself that I don’t remember hearing from you lately. Now I know why you’ve been doing what I should be doing. Building that is.
Wow a nice mix of models! What are you complaining about? I have only completed 3 kits so far this year and you have all of those. And those look very nicely done too.
If you don’t intend to finsh them…send them to me. He-he-he.
Derek, We are proud of you on all accounts. No need to dwell, just know we as a group are all here. As WIPW so elequently put it, yes it looks like a friggin motor pool. Now if someone actually said ready set…FIRE! …it would make a rather large mess [:D]
From what I see they all look great and judging by the last kit of yours I saw finnished I am certain that they look awsome. No doubt building is the easy part, it’s getting them all finnished right down to the last spot of paint that makes a man nutz!
Derek, Have you put the Panther to bed once and for all then? I am still so impressed with the job you did on the turret of that beastie!
I pulled the Moskit exhaust pipes back off mine last night, reamed out the holes in the bases, and reglued them in. They look a bit better now. They were too (way too!) high before. Tools, jack, and spare track links are all that’s left!! YEA!!
