The Grey A-10 Color Scheme...

Akuma, (lets try this again)
My sone is a B-2 pilot, and a friend of his that he went through UPT at ENJJPT with was in A-10’s at Davis Montham. Knowing I was a modeller the friend sent me pictures of his A-10 (for when I build my A-10). His plane was overall gunship grey.
that was about 1 1/2 yrs ago as he has now moved over to the B-2 community. That is as current as I know of.
Bruce

Bruce, could you post that pic, I have never seen an A-10 painted overall gunship gray??? [?]

I love the B-2 too! (You have any pics of that to share?) Wonder what it’s like to fly one…

Anyway, I’m going to stick with the ghost greys, since I have the paints and all…

Akuma;
You’ll love where I’m sitting at right this minute, I’m looking out of the office window and seeing my units A-10’s and the 509th B-2’s across the apron here at Whiteman AFB

… I hate you people :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m too afraid to go into the armed forces and stuff anyway…

Not to mention, I’m afraid to fly, but hey… Maybe something like that wouldn’t be as bad as any kinda passenger plane (I’ve flown before if it counts lol )

Are you allowed to take pictures though?

Well yes & no, I could take all the pix of the A-10’s I want but can’t really get pix of the Batwinged Bomber unless I get a photo op like an airshow or when it’s out for static display for an event on base, but there is an airshow coming up here in June so I’ll be able to get some great shots of the plane

Darn… Is it still like classified or something?

And it’s a jet, not a plane, you should know that :stuck_out_tongue:

But hey, A-10 pics would be pretty cool you know  lol

Yes the Batwing is still highly classified and the AF really doesn’t like people taking pix of planes on the ramp without authorization from the PR department, they are kinda funny about that, but today the base had a change of command ceramony and I got within 15 ft of the Batwing today but I didn’t have a camera with me, and there was security galore around the plane

I don’t see what you could take a pic of that I haven’t already seen :stuck_out_tongue: (Well, on the outside of it, anyway… )

I just wonder what it looks like… Maybe if I dress like you and act like you I can pass for you? LOL… kidding (me being female doesn’t help that much anyway… )

I still laugh about the pic Aviation Week took… (Back when the bird’s tail was classified when it was first shown to the public and all… )

Now, I’d ask what’s still classified, but… that’d give it all away :stuck_out_tongue: I just wanna see one up close some day though…

Too bad I dunno what airshows we have around here…

Well I guess the colors or something goofy like that, I remember when I was on Active Duty stationed at Nellis AFB you could not take a picture of any plane on the ramps when Red Flag, Gunsmoke, or when the fly off’s of the F-15E to F-16E ( F-16XL) which the F-15 won, F-20 to the F-15’s & F-16’s which the F-20 was dropped ( the F-20 took off and engaged the target within 3 minutes compaired to the F-16’s 5 minutes and the F-15’s 11 minutes ), so like I said the AF is Funny that way, but if they do a static display at the Open House this year I’ll get some pix’s everyone and try to post them

Heh…

I think I know what’s classified, probably what’s in the paint, or something fancy like that…

Do you fly anything though?

Hey go to http://www.a-10.org/photos/photos2.asp and here are alot of A-10 pics. Most are the ghost gray some are like forest color. hopefully it will be a help.

Already been there, but thanks anyway
