Hello everybody. My name is Jeff but my kids call me “The Gimpy Ninja”. That’s because I’m so stealthy in spit of the fact that I’m disabled. HaHaHa. Anyway. I am new to FSM but not model building. I guess you could say I’m picking up where I left of as a kid only now I have more patients. As a kid I build a lot cars, a few ships and some airplanes. My skills at building models is much better than it use to be but I still have much to learn. I’ve developed a passion of sorts for helicopters, truck and some cars, primarily those of a vintage style. I do like old sailing ships but I content to stick with helicopters and vintage/classic vehicles and muscle cars. I’m going to give a go at weathering and dioramas rather than looking like the vehicle just rolled off the assembly line. There is so much to learn with detailing and weathering. I saw one guy who is building and selling “Classic Wrecks” which is awesome. Maybe I’ll try something like that. Having a chance to read over a few post and the forum rules and guidelines I have to say I am pleased. I’ve had my fill of people who think they are Lord and Master of the all knowledge and wisdom of the universe. I’m here to share my enthusiasm of model building and learn from those who’ve been modelers for while and know their craft well. I like the zero tolerance rule. One thing I’ve learned to keep out of the work place, pub and friendships is politics. Although I don’t entirely agree with the religion have, I have great respect for the rule and those who, for lack of a better word, in force it. As they stated in the post, there are other places where we can talk about those topics. So. If you haven’t figured it out by now I tend to talk a lot. That’s what happens when a guy is confined to the house nearly 24/7. Sucks being disabled sometimes. Stuck inside all the time and rarely have anyone to talk with. That’s about it for now. I look forward to reading and sharing more with everyone. Have a great day The GimpyNinja
Welcome to the Forum, Jeff.
Welcome to the Forums Jeff!! Glad to have you aboard! Lots of great guys, and gals, on the Forums that are ready, willing and able to help you with any questions/problems that you might have. Every once in a while, you might get a funny, or weird answer to your questions. That’s because we’ve sniffed too much glue and paint fumes over the years. [;)] Most of the time, you’ll get the answers that you are looking for. I’ve been building for 66 of my 72 years and I am still learning something new almost every day. I build whatever strikes my fancy at the time. Any time you feel like it, just jump right in and join the conversations. But, as you’ve probably read, we like to see photos of your builds. Don’t worry about whether you think they are great or not. We’ve found out that we are our own worst critics. The members will help you if they think it needs to be fixed (if they see anything wrong). [;)] Enjoy!

welcome to the forums
Welcome to the gang!
Thank you all. The sniffing glue thing was hilarious Jim. That’s possibly the reason my wife gives my son and I an odd look and says, “The cheese done slid off your cracker”, the she walks out of the room shaking her head. We’re just having fun building models together. I look forward to posting what we’re doing and some pictures also. See ya, Jeff
