The Forgotten War GB 2020

Hello, bufflehead; and welcome to the GB!

I have made my decision on my project, a 1/35 Tamiya M40. I also splurged on their upgrade set for the metal barrel.

I started the AFV Club version some years back, with disastrous results following a hobby table collapse, hopefully it goes better with the 2nd attempt.

Would you put me down as TBD? I know it’ll be in 1/35, just haven’t decided what yet.

Nice, Glamdring! Artillery![Y]

[snWcm], Mach1! I’ll add you to the roster. [:D]

You bet! Some colorized pictures I found to whet the appetite:

These were from this link, and there is mony more interesting photos available:

Initial progress on the MiG-15:

Cockpit done:

Fuselage and wings assembled (requiring quite a bit of putty at the wing roots [:(] ):

And, the tail and nose assembled:

Were we supposed to start already?

In any case nice work there AA, you’re off to a great start!

Robert: Great photos there of the M40. I’ve got the AFV Club kit. It’s been in about three GBs so far and over five years and I still haven’t finished the darn thing yet… [:(] Good luck with yours!

Thanks, Gamera! Yeah, we can start already. The initial post for this GB said we can start in December 2019.

Hello again, everybody! The GB “officially” starts in January 2020; but I’ve allowed anyone who wants to start sooner to begin this month.

Glamdring - Thanks for the link to all those photos! [:D]

AA- Boy! You already have a lot of that plane together! Congrats!

Oh ok, thanks for clearing that up!

So when I get my F-51D done AA’s MiG-15 is going to be waiting for me? [:|]

Like a mugger in a dark alley…MiG Alley!

Np!

Your F-51 just has to keep the MiG away from my soldiers on the ground! Hehe… [;)]

Sign me up for this GB.

Ill start with the 1/35 Dragon M46 Patton

Decided on this since it comes with some figures. I’m also kinda curious what the differences are from the Dragon kit that Stik is doing.

[snWcm], Stik!

Will the two Pattons have their respective yellow markings on ’em?

I was planning on it for mine.

Gam. Cheer up… You can out turn him any day, after awhile he’ll get tired, short on fuel and make a run for the Yalu .

The Orange Box kit comes with single piece DS tracks instead of the single piece indy link tracks. But you have to use the guide horns off of the original kit tracks with the DS band tracks.

Otherwise the kits are identical.

I am planning on doing mine in the Tiger markings. It’s too eye catching of a scheme.
