I just got about nine new 1/72 scale Armor models, most of which are from ACE, and so I’m hiring crew and getting ready to start up full scale construction again! [:D]
The last 1/72 scale Armor kit I finished was Revell/Germany’s British MCV Warrior. Here she is, finally finished after having finally found the decals:
Not only will my factory workers be building new Armor, but they have been given a little ‘warmup’ project to work on. [;)] I have an early 1/72 scale Panther that I built over 27 years ago that is desperately in need of an overhaul! [xx(]
So, here is a pic of the project my crew will be working on; call it the “Before Pic” as it were:
You can see they have their work cut out for them!
During this time, I may still have somoe workers do some more work on Monty’s caravan if any more supplies and materials come in.
Meanwhile, they will be working on a whole mess of new Soviet Armor, as well as one Israeli tank and an Egyptian vehicle.
Thanks wbill! I’ve missed it, and feel great about getting things started again! [B)] I’ve got a BTR 60 going, a BRDM 2 and have started preliminary construction on a T 72 tank so far. I’ve got more pics coming later on.
Lol! This Factory is building Soviet equipment. What does that tell you? [;)][:o)]
here’s a hint: [}:)]
The benefits are low pay, long hours, and the satisfaction of knowing you are building good strong equipment for the support of the glorious Revolution against the bourgeous oppressors! [:D][:D][:D]
So, if you still want to work, I always have room for more! [^]
BTW gringe, I love your photo and caption of the Iraqi Information MInister! That is classic! You should have Dwight photochop him into a new scene where Apache helos are flying overhead, M1 tanks and Bradleys are passing behind him, and he’s saying “There are NO Americans here!” lol! [:D][:D][:D][:D]
The Warrior kit was just like you’d expect from Revell/Germany. It went together fast and smooth, with no issues of fit, or any other problems. It was one of the best and easiest assemblies I’ve done since my Merkava III. Now I’m working on a bunch of ACE kits! Oh the Pain…! [yuck][B)] Well, I’ll be a better modeler for it afterwards!
I’d thought about leaving the Panther the way it is for the memories as you say; but everytime I look at my collection, he just stands out like a very sore thumb. I keep getting that “itch” you feel when something isn’t finished, you know what I mean? It’s like he’s begging me to please make him look like all the rest of the tanks! [:(][V] so, I’m going to give him a new life as a painted, more detailed tank that can hold his commander’s head up high! [:P][4:-)][:o)][^]
Good to see ya on the forum Duke. Sounds like we might be treated to some up and coming work by your “gulag” crew. Look forward to seeing more pics, and comments. semper fi, mike
Thanks dj! It should be a pretty good, now that I’ve had more practice at some of the techniques I’ve learned here on these Forums.
Mike, thank you. I feel good finally having some more models in progress to post here.
Thank you Joe and lizardqing. My factory is in full swing with two BRDMs going, a BTR-60 and a T-72 so far. I’ve also started some preliminary construction on the Tungusta Mobile SAM system as well. Pics are forthcoming so watch this Thread for further developments! [;)][:)]
Good looking kits there Duke. i use to do a few 1/72 kits but the arthritus in my fingers makes even 1/35 scale a little tricky at times. as far as your crew is concerned, remind them that the floggings will continue until moral improves.
Duke,
Is that the old Hasagawa Panther? Built one of those in my youth.
I am working on the new Revell Hmmwv kit. Only doing one of the 2 in the box as a review that I will be posting on my site. Makes me wonder why I went back to 72nd armor? At least the parts in the planes kits are big enough to handle (most of the time), but the findly little springs, axles, etc in this kit are really trying my patience.
Oh well, about halfway done so far so will let you all know how it comes out.
Thanks New Mex! I shall tell that to the crew! Lol! I got a bit more done on several kits, I just need to get the pics fixed up and posted. I got a photobucket account to try out. We’ll see how it works.
Phil, I believe it is, but it’s been so long I don’t truly remember. It may even be esci, but I don’t know.
I’ve been wanting to get one of those HMMWV kits from Revell! So far I haven’t been able to find one. I’m looking forward to seeing how yours turns out.
