I haven’t seen any amusement rides modeled here, so I thought I’d trow this one out there.
I designed and 3D printed(of course) the Eli Bridge Scrambler ride, a childhood favorite. It was relatively easy, just design one car and arm then print x12. 
I modeled the original design/color before all the fancy lights were added.
It’s freely spins but I plan on updating the design so it could eventually be motorized.
That is really cool! I have a friend that builds carnival rides, I’ll have to show him this!

That’s really cool, what rides does your friend build? I tried contacting Eli Bridge to get some drawings for the gears, specifically the number of teeth on each but never heard back 
That IS unusual! That brings back memories of going to the 50th State Fair when I was little. In addition to the Scrambler, I remember the Tilt-A-Whirl, Mad Mouse, and the terrifying Salt & Pepper. No, not the terrifying hip-hop group, the carnival ride.
I’d like to build the Zipper, but I’m not sure how strong it would end up being.

This is truly impressive. First of all, just the fact that you designed and 3D printed the whole thing yourself makes this a pretty remarkable project. You certainly aren’t going to see many of these sitting on a contest table! I’m not even sure what category they would put it in. 
But the best part is that looking at it immediately brought back childhood memories of riding one of these—and if I’m remembering correctly, I probably threw up afterward. That’s a pretty unusual memory for a model to trigger.
Really unique project and beautifully done. This is exactly the kind of modeling I love seeing because it’s something completely unexpected.
I guess I should have printed out a small plastic bucket to barf in as guests exit the ride.
Now that would be the perfect finishing touch! Put a tiny bucket next to the exit and call the diorama complete.

I notice in my last photo of the Scrambler mounted to the wall that there is a broken leg. 
I took it down and fixed it before it fell onto the floor.
Phew! Great catch, that would have been a tragedy if it had fallen.

Hey Sam, I took the liberty of creating a figure of you as a kid right after you got off the Scrambler ride.
You got it perfectly right! You even got my hair exactly as it should have looked after getting off that thing.
This build has officially taken a strange turn now that I’ve become part of the diorama.
Now I wish I had a 3D printer!
