The Duke's Newest Armor, Nos. 647 & 648

Okay people, I apologize for flooding the boards here, but I managed to get a couple more done.

This first one, Number 647 in my Completed Ground Vehicles collection is my Emhar 1/72 scale British Mark IV Male “Flypaper” that I built for the IPMS USA Forums WWI Group Build. This little beastie got a wash first; then I splattered it with a dark brown color; then added some lighter powder to the top of that. Here it is after a spin through Cambrai:

Some top shots:

The next one, Number 648 in my Completed Ground Vehicles collection is the Hobby Boss 1/72 scale German Br-86 Dampflokomotive. I didn’t weather this one quite yet since I didn’t know how to do it and I don’t want to ruin it when I’ve come so far. So, here it is finally, I’m declaring this one completed:

Okay, that’s all I got done so far. I’m starting another job tomorrow so I don’t foresee much bench time for a couple weeks. So, enjoy these two latest models and please feel free to comment if you wish. They always keep me motivated to keep going. Thanks for looking in.

Now you need a nice P-47 to strafe that train  There seem to be several of those WWI tanks appearing on here lately. It’s certainly a nice change from Tigers and Panthers and Mark IVs (oh my!). Keep on flooding here buddy!

Thanks Carlos! I agree, it feels good to see something different being posted. And I do have a P-47 to strafe the train! Several in fact…

The flood may dry up a bit, now that I have some work again, but if I have the chance to get something done; I’ll be sure to get some more progress done when I can.

hi duke

i have a pair of those and the 1/35 locomotive as well. THE WEATHERING MAGAZINE on DUST has a locomotive weathering article and also search for BR-52 on the forum for weathering too.

saturated 3 categories at a local contest last weekend so i had 1, 2, 3, in modern wheels; 1, 2, 3 in commercial trucks; and 1, 2 in towed artillery

Nice works there, Duke!

Dang Wayne, are you part Russian? Swamp the defenses? Congrats on the wins. I know that your work deserves it, saturation or not.

Way to go Wayne and thanks for the comments too! I’ll see if I can find those articles. Meanwhile, I’ll be saturating the 1/72 scale category at Valleycon this coming Sunday; Dora will be reinforcing the assault.

Thanks Model Maniac! I’m glad to see your comments.

Duke: Great job on all the cool stuff you’ve been posting recently. I love the Mark IV esp the splattered mud effect you’ve got going on there!

Wayne: Big congrads to you sir!

Thanks Gamera! I hope to have more done soon.
