The Darkside (Armor Forum) T-shirt

I would be willing to add an extra $5.00 to my order to help defray the costs of shipping shirts to the Far East or Europe. I sure would hate to see someone left out because of a few extra bucks. For that matter maybe we could all chip in an extra $1-$2 to create a pool to offset added shipping costs to those far-away places. Just an idea, but I’d be willing to kick in a little extra to make sure everyone that wanted a shirt outside North American continent would actually get one. Maybe should wait to see what actual costs would be?

Glenn

Great idea, Glenn. I like that. If everyone paid just a little more so the shipping would work out about the same for everyone. [tup]

I think it’s a great idea. I like the idea of some kind of a Sherman and a Panzer of some type.[2c]

that goes for me too.

great idea Glenn. Sign me up!!

My preference would be towards a simple and generic idea. Not too sure about the whole Challenger/Abrams/flag idea from a personal perspective; I feel that WW2 images are a bit more universal. Sort of classical.
Would buy one anyway, mind you, just for a memento. Just my opinion.

Matt

I would love to have a Darkside Tee-shirt. I hope this becomes a a reality.

I think a liitle extra cash to ensure everyone can get the same deal is a great idea.

What does Fine Scale Modeler think of all this? Any feedback from the publishers? Do you guys want shirts, too? Hmmm… maybe work a deal for a sweet subscription discount… nah…just kidding

why not pick the badge of when we passed the aircraft forum?

Below your E-I-E-I-O quote you have 4 GB Badges displayed. What the one on the far left for? Is that one generic enought for our purposes? Just a thought!

Glenn

As I am one of those who would benefit from everybody adding an extra couple of $$ so that everyone can get one, I can say it makes me happy and humble. It sure is a great thing to be a member of such a great forum. [:I][bow] Thank you guys.

you guys are nothing but a bunch of socialists!
the greatest good for the greatest number, eh?
i guess i can play along. [:D][:p][;)]
(hope you can figure out i am razzing. i would pony up an extra few $ to keep the costs moderate for all)

i would like the back to say something along the lines of:
-----------------Armor-------------------
The Dark Side of the FSM Forum
----------------{logo here}--------------
-----------------join us at----------------
---------www. finescale.com---------

Edit -
or maybe instead of ‘join us’ it should say ‘get on track’
(the dashes are only to preserve my spacing, which the page takes out)
(and the space is so it does not make the address clickable)

the more awareness we build for the site, the bigger our knowledge base becomes,
and perhaps more people will be brought into the hobby.

i know some people are put off by the ‘corporate logo’ thing,
and i am in agreement there.
you won’t see me wearing a ‘Nike’ T-shirt so i can act as a billboard for them.
but i have no problem ‘advertising’ for this site.

of course, i will go along w/ the majority.
just [2c]

Definitely the more generic the better. I"m personally not into the stars&stripes w abrams or the union jack w chally. Too limited in scope. Plus the ww2 stuff just looks so much cooler.

It’s great to see that everybody is willing to help offset the additional costs of postage. But then that’s to be expected from such an awesome bunch that inhabit this forum [bow] [tup].
The other possibility would be for those guys outside the USA to print their own shirts. All that they’d need is the specs - material, colurs, etc and then to ensure that they get enough people together. Say ,all the guys in Europe could club together and all the guys in South Africa or Australia could club together. This could offset the cost of postage AND import duties.
Just an idea.

Postal rates from the US to Japan, England, Netherlands etc are outrageous.
We are looking at about $20 and 4-6 weeks to ship to these areas. And thats parcel post. Surface Mail. No insurance.

We could turn it over to someone like Cafe Press, but then you’ll get a white t-shirt with a digital transfer that will last, oh…3 washings. I was thinking of something more along the lines of a black, 100% cotton t-shirt with a full size back print and the Darkside tagline (what ever the full thing may be) and get Dwight’s permission to use the armor icon on the front left chest (pocket area). I have a great idea for a graphic that would make everyone happy I think. Generic enough to not “T” any one off. (I kill me)

Mike

Sounds good Mike! Get crankin ont those threads bro!! [:D] I can’t believe it costs that much to mail something to Japan and other far reaches. I bet UPS or Fed-Ex wouldn’t be much more. Poor J-Hulk, at least after he buys one!! [;)]

I’m definitely in for one or 2 so keep us informed.

Eric

Fantastic idea![:D] Put me down a couple.

I might be too late, but take a look here

maybe something with these?
The catagories are on the right

yep, I agree on a couple extra bucks to offset shipping costs.

Believe it. I’ve ordered some things from the US and depending on the size and weight, postage can easily double the price of an article. It’ was delivered by USPS and , if I remember correctly, Fed-Ex.
