My name is Hunter and my father is Jeff (ModelMan68) It deeply hurts me to inform you he passed way this afternoon at 4:41pm. On Monday my father and I had a conversation and he stressed that I write you and express his statement. I will do my best to highlight everything and everyone. So here I go…
My friends,
Well, the time has come for me to put the top back on my glue and put my small parts away. I cannot express how grateful I am for being about of this forum and having the opportunity to talk and discuss modelling with you. I truely thank all of you for your kind words and prayers for me and my family during this period in our life.
My father had a hard time talking and thinking during this so if I missed anyone during this next section I am truely sorry…
Bish, Steve(ModelCrazy), Stikpusher, Patrick206, RudyonWheels, PlasticJunkie, GMorrison, Joe(Highland272), Brian Miller, Fermis and everyone that I interacted with on the forums I would like to thank you for the time spent discussing modelling and what ever come about. I throughly enjoy every moment. Gentlemen it has truely been an honor getting to meet you.
So now it is time for me to turn off my bench lights, push in my chair and say goodbye.
I wish all of you the best life has to offer and many years of great health and happiness.
My father passing came before I had the chance to post his thoughts. Gentlemen, Thank you for being so friendly and kind to my father during his time on the forum. He greatly appreciated your talks and your love for the hobby.
Hunter, I am truly saddened by your father’s passing. You and your family have my deepest sympathy. We barely met and got to know one another for a brief moment on this site, but I really liked him as much as could be in such a manner and for such a brief timespan. Thank you for passing on his thoughts to us here. He was a world class guy.[Y]
My family and I send our heartfelt sympathy and condolences, we hope that you will gather close and comfort each other. Jeff and I shared e-mails for a while, when my last one yesterday went un-anwered I feared this was the reason. I wish him eternal peace.
A good man and class act, he faced this stage of his life with grace and courage. Thank you for letting us know, and again I’m saddened to learn of your loss.
Wow. I’m so sorry to hear this already. I never met your dad, but I wish I had more time to get to know him. In the few conversations we had, I realized that this was a man i wish I had known personally. His story touched me deeply. I don’t want to turn this into a religious post, but I asked if he was ready to meet with God and he gave me a date when he gave his life to Christ. He then said that we was not ready to leave his family and friends, to which I told him that he was more ready than most. I sent him a message yesterday and I was afraid something happened because I never heard anything back. Because of this man I never met, I have decided to do my best to never take anything for granted. walks with my wife, holidays with the family, playing with the cats, hunting, playing bass guitar in church are all things that could be taken away at a moments notice. I don’t want to look back on my life and wish I had enjoyed my life more. Thank you Modelman68. A good friend I never met.
I’m so sorry for your loss but I know that he passed peacefully. He and I were just talking and he was very happy about his bosses visit. I was really worried when he did not respond back to our messages and now I know why. I can tell you he was glad you all were there and that you will be there for your mom. I’m really saddened because I so much enjoyed getting to know your dad. He and I had a lot in common and one of those things were our Clemson Tigers! For your dads memory I will always add a Tiger Paw to my figures signature.
I just finished my new figure for the Fine Scale column and here is the back, in honor of your dad.
So sorry to hear this. Knowing it was coming doesn’t lessen the impact on you, your family, and us here. I didn’t follow his builds as we built in different areas but that doesn’t ease the sense of loss.
i’m glad he felt comfortable sharing with his friends on the forum and thank you for letting us know.
Hunter,
Thank you for informing us. I was shocked to learn of Jeff’s prognosis, and I am sadden at his loss. I am so grateful that he is with the Lord and I look forward to meeting him in person in the future when my time comes.
He was very brave and wanted to continue his love of modeling to the last.
My prayers are with you and your family during your loss.
Hunter, I truely respect your father for how he opened up to us about his condition. It was quite touching and needless to say, he passed to soon for your family and his other in the forums. May he be at peace and may your family remember all the great times you shared with him.
I didn’t know Jeff but the fact that he took the time to have you post here on his behalf to let all of us know what happened gives me insight to the fact that he was a selfless and good man. I hope this message finds you and your family at peace with fond memories of your dad. I thank you for posting for him and Mr. Jeff for his thoughtfulness to all of us,
