Testors boxing of the old Hawk Models 1/126 C-131. My build is actually a less common JC-131. Decals from Caracal. Paints: Tamiya and Testors.
Now that…is a sweet looking bird right there Douglas. Looks like the paint laid down verrry nicely on it too. Great work on a classy aircraft.
Thank you! Took a ton of sanding to get the fuselage that smooth. Added a boomerang antenna from the spares box.
I’ll just bet it did take a lot of “elbow grease” to whip those halves into shape. Those old Testors boxings needed a lot of work to make 'em shine like this one does. Cool addition with the kit bashing of the boomerang antenna too.
Well done! An excellent metallic finish which makes this “vintage” kit POP!
Thank you Tom. Tamiya Silver Leaf with a satin clear coat (Tamiya.)
Nice job. I can only imagine what the parts looked like in the box. I like the military transports. I just got the Roden 1/144 convair CV-340 and a Caracal decal set to do a Samaratin.
Excellent work! I remember that model as a kid. You turned it into an elegant showpiece.
Thank you. The Roden 1/144 Convair 340 kit has surpassed it, but the Hawk kit is still a fun build.
Is that a military version of the Convair 340?
It is. Those Convair twins served the military for many years.
