Testors decal maker...

I just got the Testor’s decal maker kit and the odd shaped CD won’t fit in my drive. I have the old style drive where you slide in the disks instead of the “tray type”. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions?

maybe someone can copy it to floppies or a zip instead. I don’t know what you have drive wise.

When you get it up and running i want to know how good the kit is.

There was a similar problem while at tradeshows people would give “business cards” on cute, odd shaped cd’s… anyone with a front loading rom-drive was suddenly out of luck when they could not eject them.

Find someone that has a tray loading rom-drive, copy the disc legally as “your operating backup” and you should be ok

Yeah, I literally had to pick up my computer and shake it out! I was ticked. I’ll try coping it here at work if I have it in the car. Thanks!

P.S. What’s the purpose of the “funny shaped” CD anyway?

to fit in the box, I guess. I have the kit and I tried it out for the first time tonight and it didn’t work quite as planned. I don’t know if I allowed enough time to dry, or if I sprayed too much solution on, or if it was the size and color of the decal(really small gray printing) but anyway it didn’t work. I printed out some other decals with those and they are bigger and will have days to dry, so I will try it out again, to see if it works.

The disc is a simple form of printmaster program and if you want the better program you have to pay more via their web site - go figure. Quite honestly, if you are good at using you own program, you can make your own decals like I do. Also, there is a place in Miami, FL that sells decal paper for ink jet AND laser printers(www.decalpaper.com) . I bought some and I was pleased with the product. Just print you decals and seal it with a light coat of lacquer or the testors sealant and you’ve got decals. Good luck.
