Testors custom decal system? Any suggestions?

Hey y’all,
I just bought myself a “Testors Custom Decal System” kit from Wal-Mart. It’s white backed decal sheet, Decal bonder(in a spray can) and some instructions.
But, I was wondering, have any of y’all had good luck with these things? Was it worth my 5.00$? And, can I use any old graphics software to print the decals, or do I have to use the program it came with?(Because the program it came with STINKS, and wants me to pay to upgrade it!)

Tenchi,

There’s a fellow, a very good artist, at the Aerodrome web forum who loves the Testors Custom Decal System. Check out this thread:

Todd starts out asking pretty much the same question you have, and ends up really liking the product after trying it out. He’s posted some images of models he’s made with his custom decals applied to them, and they look good.

I’ll probably pick up a kit and see how it goes.

I don’t know, I fell for the same trap you did, and felt pretty peeved since!!! So, I haven’t bothered to pay for their upgrade!! Even if the program is good after the upgrade, I thought that it was a pretty underhanded thing for Testor’s to do. But let us all know if you decide to do it, and it’s worth it!! Sorry, I couldn’t have been more help.

You can print from any software!

Good luck,
