The week before at the hospital, we were reminiscing about “the good old days” when I told him I was getting back in modeling. He told me how jealous he was of my 2005 Amt cut-away Millennium Falcon. Well hell I just found one on kijiji our Craig’s list.
Now the issue it has about “10 pieces” glued together using the “blue” Testor tube glue
I know its plastic cement, I know it melts and not glue parts together,
But does anyone have a hack that they have tried? I tried the freezer with bonded spruce pieces, it snapped before the bond gave way, but that was the paint on cement, not the tube.
Getting this kit would make him smile, and maybe give him something to fight for (doc gives him 35% chance of making it out) so before I fork out some cash, a little advice would help a lot

You may be in luck. The blue tube glue is the “non-toxic” citrus based glue rather than the normal red tube glue. Blue is quite weak and you may find that it could just fall apart (depending on just how much of it was applied).
As a side-note, it’s not Testors, but I have a tube of non-toxic Patcra cement from about 1979/80 which is still liquid in the tube and might never dry.
I just took apart a self-inflicted glue bomb, a 1/24 Kubelwagen.
If you go slowly and carefully, cutting with a razor blade, prying, slowly bending and so forth, you’ll get decent results.
I had to accept that some of the parts will never come apart again, but mostly it was just a couple of hours of clean up after dismantling, and it’s ready to be put together with more skill than five years ago.
