Hi, when I was younger, I read the Stewart Cowley’s book series called Terrain Train Authority Handbook. There are a lot of very beautiful spaceships there and I am wondering if some of those spaceships can be bought as scales models?

Awesome looking ships! Most of the SF kits are from shows and a few movies. You would have to scratch build them I’m afraid. You would have a better chance getting a manufacture to produce a new Coast Guard ship than a SF ship from a book series. There is a SF author in our modeling club here in Boise and he scratches his own ships. Not bad looking at all. I can’t remember his name as he only shows up once or twice a year.
I like Anderson and McDevitt myself.
Oh gosh!!! I had the ‘Great Space Battles’ and ‘Spacecraft 2000-something or the other AD’ back as kid! Loved both of them!!! Hadn’t thought of them in years and now I do a websearch and there were two more and some off-shoot books. Gee friggin’ whiz, Amazon has some dealer that wants over seventy bucks for the Spacewrecks one…

I’d love to see anything based on these, they were some awesome work both in imagination and the quality of the art itself. But as Steve says you’d pretty much have to scratchbuild it, you could probably just aim for something in the spirit of their work though instead of a direct match.
That’s what I tought.
I have never done scratchbuilding. I consider myself as a beginner. I just started to paint a little so it will take time for me to start scratchbuilding because I really dont know what to do.

You are lucky because I am searching for them on amazon and I even saw some people selling some of those books around 300$ canadian. If you dont want to keep them, just let me know 
Loved those books. I may still have “Spacecraft 2000-2100A.D.” somewhere in storage. I scratchbuilt a Proximan K-13 Shark from a 1/48 scale F-4 Phantom C/L fuel tank. It is long gone now, unfortunately. Like you, I’d love to see some of these models produced commercially.
Hellwarrior: I wish I could but I have too many memories with these books. And they are in kinda ragged condition from dragging them to school and back. Guess I did luck out then and end up with the more popular of the four books.
