don’t recall seeing much of a cockpit for a scale reference, its 1/32 so guessing it will be around
12-15 inches long?

No cockpit - it is a pure robot!
Kit length is around 8 to 9 inches. Which is strange, as the horizon vinyl kit was also ostensibly 1/35 scale, but it was 16" or so long. Even though there are no hard scale references in T1 and T2, I always perceived the flying HK to be large.
Regardless, I am also eagerly awaiting this kit. Got my Alcald ready.
Very exciting!
mine … in on its way as of Weds… I preordered a few months ago… Monsters In Motion website…
I need to visit that place… they are local here…
Is the kit out for general release in the US? Or did some shops like MiM get the jump? Just curious, as I need to know when to start bugging my LHS.
Looking forward to this kit!
Pegasus Hobbies, who makes these kits, is based here in the Los Angeles area. The two shops that have them now, MiM and Brookhurst are both local as well. I suspect that the other side of the country will be getting these kits within the next few weeks, working eastwards. But that is just a guess on my part.
I saw one last night at out IPMS Capter meeting “show and tell”. one of the memebers went to Pegasus Hobbies and bought it during the week. It really is a very nice kit in person. Later this year or early next year Pegasus will be releasing a chrome plated version for those who do not want to paint it themselves.
I was able to look one over in the box last Sunday at Burbank’s House of Hobbies. The detail is great, especially on the engines… A bit surprising is how small it is, as I expected a larger craft in 1/32nd scale. Definitely worth picking up!
Glad to hear that we are going to see an HK tank in 35th and a separate pack of Terminators in-scale — now we just need an accompanying set of human infantry to duke it out in a dio!! Can even convert the Meng pick-up into a post-apocalypitc technical to go along!
Off topic, also got a look at the Batman Tumbler in the box — MAN, that little box is PACKED with sprues!!! Lots of detail to work on and definitely not a shake and bake quickie build!
Both of these kits are on my list to pick up (after I get my Meng D9R bulldozer, of course!!
Great times for modelers — far too many great choices!!
With Regards and Aloha,

You got that right about great times for modelers… I have far more choices than money available for them… LOL! Good idea about the Meng truck for use with the aerial HK… Resistance fighter figures would be awesome!!!
Good news and info guys.
I was trying not to spend any money this month but I don’t think I can resist.
No, this one is screaming “buy me!”
I bought it,. built it… painting it now… and just pre-ordered the HK tank…
I am double jealous…
Now that the HK tank is out, what are your impressions? The plastic is very smooth, unlike the flying HK. And the sucker is huge! I don’t like the greasy vinyl track, so I’m thinking about how best to make new ones. Has anyone given this thought? So far, the only thing I can come up with is tediously making up links with sheet plastic, rod and “C” channel. I wonder if any aftermarket tracks are in the works?
Not hearing a lot of good things about those tracks. Maybe cast them in resin?
On a side note, I just scored the old Horizon kit of the Aerial HK. This is the bigger 15 inch vinyl kit. I just could not bring myself to buy the Pegasus kit at 8-9 inches long.
And look what came in the mail yesterday!

Cool Robiwon! Are you going to dive right in and start building it? Tamiya model mag had a build article, and despite the kit being sort of rough around the edges, it turned out looking good. Let me know if you want a scan of the article.
I have started piecing together the HK tank. There are a lot of edge seams that will require patience to fill, but the kit has stupendous volume compared to regular tank kits. The tracks are the weak point of the kit, so I wonder if Pegasus would consider selling their own brand of link and length plastic tracks? That would sure beat having to make all the links using sheet plastic strips.
Anyone up for a “Terminator: Rise of the Models” GB?
Attempting to reacquaint my self with posting pics from Flickr. Let’s see if this goes through:

If it does, this is the Pegasus 1/35 HK tank starting initial assembly. The kit will be needing a lot of filler at all joints. Hopefully more progress photos to follow shortly.
