i am getting ready to build another F4U-1D Tamiya Corsair. Almost all of my other prop planes, (P-47, F6F, F4F, and FG1 Corsair), have or had lines at the base of the yellow tips where i put a thin strip of tape to mask for the tips. THIS IS VERY ANNOYING! I’ve tried future on the blades to no avail. I’ve used Tamiya tape, 3M blue painters tape (which helped a little, still a little showing). Any help in this matter will be GREATLY appreciated![:'(]
Hawkeye has a pretty good article here;

PTFE tape can be pretty useful here sometimes, there is no problem removing it when finished as it dosn’t have any adhesive.
The most widely used tool in my modeling tool arsenal is a polishing stick. Us one to ease the demarcation ridge between the colors.
Thanks Milair for the referral!
