Ian Allen Publishing has released the begining of a series of books called Tanks in Detail. Volume 1 is titled:
PZKPFW IV AUSF A TO J PANZER IV: Tanks in Detail 1
Does anyone know of a reliable U.S. shipper that is carrying this line of books? The publisher is Ian Allan.
They are geared to vehicle enthusiasts and model builders and supposed carry a bunch of details of both inside and out of the differnt variants. They have a few titles and so far all of the reviews I have read have been somewhat favorable. But they were Brit or Aussie reviews.
Thanks,
Mike
I have this book. I found it at the local Barnes & Nobel. I felt pretty lucky to find it just sitting there on the shelf. My guess is that if your local store does not have it in stock, you could probably order it through them.
try books-a-million as well. They carry a lot of WWII and other military history books and they have a huge warehouse to ship ordered books. Oh and the 10% off club price comes in handy. BUt that is just my opinion… I could be wrong.
Thanks loads guys. For as much as I’ve ordered over the net, I still feel better about going to a local bookseller and ordering the book. I didn’t see it listed in my usual e-sources and I’ve been burned enough times to go with companies I’ve done business with before.
There’s a B&N as well as BaM near my house I can go to them. Little risk there. Thanks.

Mike, Just wanted to lead you to some references that you might like to check out. As I said before, I own the Tanks in Detail book. Many of the photos in that book and the info can be found on the web. Check these sights out; there is some great info on the Panzer IV.

Beauty guys. Thanks.
I found a copy at Squadron and ordered one. Along with some other stuff. Hit the websites and found some more. There are some pretty nice german sites and if you can struggle through the deutch, some good info. Otherwise great pics. The russians have some good stuff as well but the pages are a slow load and the quality of the pics run the spectrum.
I’m seriously thinking of taking a road trip to Aberdeen proving grounds one of these days. Although they’re painted white and left out to the elements, they have a decent collection of AFV and Towed and Self Propelled.
Regards,
Mike
This book is a great reference. I hope they continue with the series.
