I have never build a tank but am thinking about it. I noticed that a lot of tanks have what looks like a texture to it like J-Hulks signature. Is that a texture or is it just a paint technique to make it look that way. Curious. Thanks!
It depends on the model of the tank and the manufacturing process. Most WWII German tanks for instance have a pretty smooth armor, as long as you don’t count the zimmerit. Zimm is a plaster like substance that was put on German afv’s roughly to prevent magnetic mines from sticking to the tank. Soviet tanks from that period would generally have a rougher cast armor. Today most mbt’s have smooth armor, but the walk ways are treated with an anti-skid material to prevent the crewmen from falling off when it’s wet or icy. Careful chacking of your ref material will get you going in the right direction.
